Our Mission
Tails High is a foster home-based cat rescue based in Northern Virginia run by passionate volunteers. Our mission is to help as many stray, abandoned, homeless cats and kittens by placing them in permanent, loving homes.
All of our cats and kittens are adored from the moment they become a Tails High rescue. We place the utmost care and attention into getting each individual cat exactly what they need. Our kitties will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated, combo tested for FIV/FeLV and microchipped prior to being available for adoption. Because we help many kitties with medical needs, we are always aiming to raise funds to treat the cats that need us most with the best veterinarian care possible.
We happen to help many overlooked cats and kittens that need more time and patience before they can be available for adoption. Our foster volunteers are absolutely magnificent and open their homes and hearts to work with these kitties that wouldn't have a chance of a happy indoor life without their dedication to prepare them for their forever home.
Every Tails High adoption begins as a Foster to Adopt where an approved adopter is able to take their new kitty home for up to 30 days to ensure they are a good fit. This is especially helpful when introducing a new cat to other pets or children in the home. We have an excellent success rate for adoptions finalizing from the FTA period because we put so much effort into making the best match possible from application to forever home.
As we are an all volunteer-run organization and our volunteers are working full time jobs while aiming to do so much for our cats and kittens, we ask for your patience when applying to adopt one of our kitties. Completing an adoption application on our website is the best way to be considered to adopt a cat from us. We review every application with careful consideration which can take up to two weeks to receive a response if you are approved to progress through our process. You will not be contacted if you are not approved or the cat you've applied for has already been adopted.
