Our Mission

A Dog’s Place Rescue mission is to enrich the lives of rescue dogs through advocacy, education, fostering, adoption and compassion.

Our Statement of Purpose:

We’re committed to vulnerable dogs, the abandoned, homeless, abused and neglected. Specifically, we collect doggos of all ages (with an emphasis on puppies) from TX because the Lone Star State has startling euthanasia rates and animal cruelty cases. As an organization, our reward is for our furbabies flourish and bloom in their happy foster or furever homes.

Adoption Policy

We appreciate your interest in adopting one of our pups! To adopt one of our dogs, please completely fill out the adoption application on our website and email to both Lisa Sherman at sherman.lisa28@gmail.com and Maria Morrero at dogsplacerescue@gmail.com.

The cost for each dog is $450 (except senior dogs which are $250). To secure your reservation of the pup, as well as your future furbaby’s safe transit from TX, we now require a transportation deposit of $200, which will be deducted from the adoption fee of $450. Once you have been approved to adopt the doggo of your choice, you will be given the option of paying the transportation deposit through check, venmo or cash.

The majority of that amount goes towards transporting the dogs safely from TX to Pennsylvania, and occasionally to Massachusetts and Canada as well as health certifications, vaccinations and food for the dogs upon arrival to PA. As a non-profit, your adoption fee is 100% tax deductible -- just remember to ask for your receipt for your taxes!

It typically takes about two weeks to bring your new furry friend home from application to pick up. We are a very small foster-based rescue, so you will collect your adopted doggo from either one of our awesome fosters or the founder’s personal home.
