Our Mission
We are a tax-exempt, non-profit corporation for the purpose of finding homes for ex-racing greyhounds and educating the public on the suitability and availability of greyhounds as pets. Our programs depend on donations and volunteers to accomplish our wonderful mission. All funds go directly to our programs; the organization is comprised solely of volunteers.
Adoption Policy
We are first and foremost dedicated to placing retired racing Greyhounds into loving homes. Our placement area includes most of western Missouri and most of Kansas. Because there are many high quality adoption programs across the country, we do not make placements beyond those two states. Greyhounds placed through our program usually are between 18 months and four years old. These ex-racers are intelligent, quiet, clean, gentle, good-natured, adaptable dogs who adjust readily to their new home environment. They are eager to please and respond positively to any attention. They do not require a great deal of space to run, as many people think, but they do need exercise.
