Our Mission
Heartstrings Animal Advocates, Inc., is a non-profit foster based animal rescue founded on June 20, 2016, in El Dorado, KS.
Our mission is to assist animals in high kill shelters by changing their numbers to names and placing them with furever families.
In November of 2023, we partnered with Moline Vet Clinic and Dr. Robert Black DVM to reopen intake and begin helping more animals.
Adoption Policy
Our adoption fees are broken up into four different tiers.
Our Gold Tier adoption fee is $300. This tier includes puppies, purebreds, and designer dogs.
This $300 adoption fee is based off our average “break even point” for getting any of the animals we serve to us, fully vetted, and meeting their needs until adoptive homes are found. The following three tiers are discounts from this rate to encourage adoptions of dogs that may be harder to place and “less desirable” in the current pet adoption climate.
Our Silver Tier adoption fee is $200. This tier includes most adult large mixed breed dogs, and dogs that have been adoptable for more than 30days
Our Bronze Tier adoption fee is $100. This tier includes senior dogs, dogs with manageable behavioral or medical needs, and long term dogs (waiting over 90 days).
Our Platinum Tier adoption fees are WAIVED and these dogs are free to adopt by approved applicants. This tier includes hospice dogs, dogs with severe behavioral or medical needs, and fully sponsored dogs.
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated (Rabies, DAPP, and bordatella), heart-worm tested, dewormed, given flea/tick prevention, and microchipped before adoption. Puppies will typically received at least two DAPP vaccines.
Out-Of-State adoptions have an additional $20 fee for interstate Health Certificate.
Adoption applications must be submitted and approved by the board members before an animal is placed with a new forever family.

Please understand that we process applications in the order they are received. Please also understand we are an all volunteer organization and process them in between day to day life.
