Our Mission

Aurora Animal Care and Control promotes and protects public safety through sheltering, pet placement programs, education and animal law enforcement. Our purpose is to provide responsive, efficient and high quality animal care and control services that preserves and protects public and animal safety. Our philosophy is to promote responsible pet ownership, compassion toward animals and safe human-animal interactions. As the agency responsible for animal-related public safety, our mission is achieved through values including professionalism, responsibility, compassion, commitment, integrity, accountability and community partnerships.

Adoption Policy

Aurora Animal Care & Control is open to the public for adoptions:
Monday-Saturday: 12pm - 4pm
Closed all Sundays and government holidays

Adoptions are first come, first serve.

Adoption Fees
Kitten (under 6 months old): $125 (Two kittens for $200)
Cat (6 months – 6 years old): $75 (Bonded pair of cats $100)
Senior Cat (7 years of age or older): $50 (Bonded pair of senior cats $50)

Puppy (under 6 months old): $200
Dog (6 months – 6 years old): $150 (Bonded pair of dogs $150)
Senior Dog (7 years of age of older): $100 (Bonded pair of senior dogs $100)

Ferret, rabbit, parrot: $50

Guinea pig, rats, cockatiel, medium bird: $25

Hamster, gerbil, mouse, small bird: $15

All other animals: varies
