Our Mission

Petaluma Pet Pals is a 501c3 non-profit established in 1998 by a group of dedicated animals lovers simply wanting to make a real difference for companion animals and the people who love them!

Our philosophy is first and foremost to encourage and promote spay and neuter, but we also roll up our sleeves and do everything we can to protect, love and care for animals that are in need.

We rescue dogs, puppies, cats and kittens at risk of euthanasia at high kill shelters in the Bay Area and beyond. We rescue, rehabilitate, foster and find loving homes for dogs and cats that would otherwise be euthanized in a high kill shelter or have to defend themselves in the wild.

We offer a spay/neuter discount coupon which is available simply by request. Our hope, is that by providing financial assistance, we encourage spay and neuter among the community, and decrease the number of animals who end up homeless and in our shelter system.

We loan humane traps for feral or community cats to those who are working to Trap, Neuter and Release (TNR) and are practicing proper colony management, including feeding and other care.

Our mission scope will continue to grow and expand as we do!

Adoption Policy

Adopting From Us

When you adopt from us, you are supporting our cause and enabling us to rescue even more animals from high-kill shelters and the street. You are also helping to supplement the veterinary care and supplies that these animals need. Each animal in our program is:

Examined by a vet (cats are FIV/FELV tested)

Vaccinated *

Microchipped

Spayed or neutered **

Rehabilitated if necessary

Cared for in a loving foster home

Each adoption will go through an adoption application and a candid but friendly interview process. We want to make sure that the adoption is the BEST fit for everyone involved. We always put the animal's best interest first. Kittens are most often adopted in pairs *unless you have a young cat at home*

Fees

$150 for Kitten or Cat Adoption ($150 for Pairs)

$300 for Puppy or Dog Adoption

* Vaccinations are age appropriate. For example kittens and puppies will need multiple boosters after adoption in their first year and are often too young for some vaccines at the time of adoption. We suggest you consult your vet within two weeks of adoption.

** Some animals may be adopted on Sterilization contracts.
