Our Mission
Redwood Coast German Shepherd Rescue, Inc. is dedicated to the rescue and placement of sound German Shepherd dogs (and mixes) in their forever homes, where they will be loved and cherished as a member of the family. Our volunteers take the time needed to understand each dog’s needs and temperament so that placement is matched appropriately with an adopter(s). Owner surrenders may be accepted, but only as space permits, as shelter dogs at risk of euthanasia remain our first priority. We also take the time to educate adopters on the unique needs of having a German Shepherd dog companion.
Adopting from our organization adds to the close-knit family of German Shepherd owners, who are intermingled with each other similar to the deep rooted system of the Redwood trees.

Adoption fees: $400 (dogs under 12 months), $350 (dogs 1-6 years), and $200 (dogs 7-years and older) *Special considerations (see website)
Additional Adoption Info
We will make every attempt to complete the approval process as quickly as possible. However, the time frame for doing so is dependent upon the adopter’s availability and our volunteer availability. We ask for your patience, as we are an all-volunteer organization.
