Meet Sidney Pinkbellied Turtle
Update 2022: I've been adopted to a great home in Maryland!
I'm an aquatic adult male pink-bellied side-necked turtle (Emydura subglobosa) who was for adoption in the Baltimore, MD, area. My shell is about 6" long, so I need at least a 55 gallon aquarium or plastic stock tank to call my own, with a good basking area with a heat light, heated water (around 75F), a UVB light, and a strong canister filter for the water. I'm probably around 5 years old, but can live another 20-30 years.
I start off a little shy, so make certain there are underwater hide spots such as artificial silk plants or a milk crate on its side under water. After a couple of weeks in a new home I will probably come to the front of the tank to see if you have food and become very curious.
Please review care information before considering a turtle. Here's a great book on aquatics, and it can be downloaded for free https://www.lulu.com/shop/richard-lunsford/captive-care-of-north-american-water-turtles/ebook/product-17551523.html
If interested in Sidney, please INCLUDE your CITY AND STATE when emailing MATTS_ADOPTIONS@HOTMAIL.COM to request an application. Shipping is possible if the adopter pays for shipping (usually $45-$100 depending on location) and if temperatures are safe for shipping on a Tuesday or Wednesday AFTER January 17th.
