Meet Pestka — our charming 12-year-old red-footed tortoise looking for his next forever home!

Pestka’s name comes from a Polish word that translates to “little seed” — which is perfect, because he’s planted himself right in our hearts. He’s incredibly social, curious, and loves attention (yes, tortoises can be social!). He had one loving owner, but sometimes life throws unexpected changes, and now he’s with us while we help find the right fit for his future.

Red-footed tortoises like Pestka can live 50+ years, so we're hoping to find someone who not only understands his care needs, but also has a long-term plan in place — just in case Pestka keeps trucking along well into the future.

A few fun facts about Pestka:
- He loves his fruits and leafy greens (bonus points if you offer him mango — it’s a favorite!)
- He’s most active during the day and enjoys exploring his space.
- He needs a warm, humid environment and plenty of room to roam.
- He *loves* a good soak in shallow water.

Pestka’s adoption includes his current enclosure, and we’re prioritizing adopters who have experience with tortoises or reptiles. Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who really understands what it takes to keep a tortoise happy and healthy for the long haul.
