Lizzo Reptile Gecko Sachse, TX

Lizzo is a female leopard gecko who was surrendered to us on 8/28/22 and is about 4-5 years old.

Lizzo is a very laid-back gecko who does not concern herself with what's happening around the reptile room until it's feeding time. Then she cares quite a bit. Outside of feeding time Lizzo loves spending her day in her humid hide or lounging around in her other hide. She had been housed with another leopard gecko and for those who may not know leopard geckos are solitary and will fight.

Reptiles at Small Pet Safe House are quarantined for a minimum of 30 days to be sure they are healthy and that they can eat and shed without issue. Lizzo came to us with s slight build up of stuck shed on her feet and as a result she is missing part of several toes. Shedding continues to be difficult for her - even with a humid hide, higher ambient humidity in her tank, and routine foot soaks - and she still needs some help removing stuck shed from her feeties as well as the tip of her tail. Shedding is considerably easier than it was before though.

We feed a variety of insects including mealworms, dubias, and soldier fly larva. Lizzo has a very healthy appetite and is very curious when it comes to her food. She will often just stare at it for a long time before she decides to eat.

Adopters should be mindful that leopard geckos have a lifespan of 10-20 years in captivity and can reach lengths of up to 10 inches.
