Meet Zinnia

Our adoption process can be found on our website here: www.mnpocketpetrescue.org/process

Estimated birth date: 5/1/20

Personality: Aggressive (lunges, bites, etc), Brave, Curious, Hesitant, Inquisitive, Mouthy (puts mouth on you but does not bite down, usually thinking your fingers are food), Smart, Sweet, takes a while to warm up

Favorite treats: Banana, Dried Cranberries, Oxbow baked treats, kale stems (rare treat), Carrots

Current Diet: Oxbow Essentials Adult Rabbit Food, Veggies, Leafy Greens, Western Timothy Hay

Favorite toys and activities: Puzzel toys, snuffle mat, applewood sticks to chew on, treat ball, running

Potty trained: Litter box trained

This animal’s daily routine: In the morning Zinnia gets fresh water, out time, and fresh greens. In the afternoon, she gets more out time while we spot clean her cage, feed her pellets, and refresh her hay.

BFF (Does this animal have or need a friend of the same species in their home?): No, but needs a friend in an adoptive home.

Other species this pet has been exposed to and reaction: Cats, indifference, or curiosity for the first couple minutes.

Has this animal been exposed to children? What was their reaction? Yes, she's very curious about her foster's 5-year-old and loves coming up to him during her out time to ask for pets or a treat.

Health concerns: None

Behavioral concerns: Zinnia does have some cage-guarding behavior off and on. This is typically grunting and lunging but she has never bit anyone.

Other notes: Zinnia is a sweet rabbit that takes a while to warm up in her new space. She is reactive and lunges while grunting during feeding time if you don't take out her food bowl. Sometimes she's just grumpy, but she has bit me once while feeding. She also does this sometimes if hands are in her cage or while giving a treat to her. We have been working with her for a while and she behaves much better, but this is something that will take time.
Zinnia has had many homes already in her life, so we are wanting the next to be her final move. She's been very curious of other rabbits but needs to be correctly introduced to her future buddy, also requiring time.
She's very curious and loves getting treats and head pats once she's gotten to know you. She also loves puzzle toys with treats and getting to run and binky. She always finds the cozy spots to lay down. She hasn't done any digging or chewed on anything inappropriate for as long as we've had her.

Zinnia was returned to MNPPR after bonding was unsuccessful.

Due to our rescue being foster based, not all foster homes are located in Saint Paul, MN. This animal's foster parent prefers to meet at the Eagan PetSmart - 1297 Promenade Pl, Eagan, MN 55121 for meet & greets, & adoptions.

Zinnia has an adoption fee of $100

We absolutely DO NOT SHIP ANIMALS! Please do not ask.

All rabbits within MNPPR are microchipped & up to date on their RHDV2 vaccinations.
