Meet TJ & Alice

TJ & ALICE
TJ: Male, Mini Rex; Alice: Female, Hotot
DOB: TJ - 7/7/2017; Alice - 2018 (estimated)

From TJ & Alice’s former owner:
TJ is very playful and loving, though forward and needs human interaction, but he
will tell you when/how. He used to be VERY mischievous, but has since learned
SOME boundaries and grown out of bad habits. He will definitely show you that
he loves you, but some of his demands are/were unreasonable, “oh. Were you
eating that? Sorry mom. THANKS!” He is an adventurous bunny who likes
freedom (plus he is VERY stubborn, so he needs long exercise time to plan his
schedule) and love, whether it is on your time or his (nose rubs are awesome too!)
He is VERY intelligent. A very special connection to be had even if you are just a
frequent visitor/friend, and especially if you are his person.
Alice is a very happy rabbit who has come such a long way since 2018 when I
adopted her. She is so curious about everything, but even though she is
comfortable around people and investigates new persons, it depends on her mood
as to if she will allow pets or not. She does zooms during exercise time and flops
frequently in her cage. She is spooked VERY easily, but recovers quickly and
will be back to her energetic and happy self. Her and TJ love each other, I think
that has helped her acclimate (again, I think she was dumped, or ran away or
something before she arrived at the SPCA). If she gets scared, he comforts her. He
is protective of her and she loves to cuddle w/ him. Once she is comfortable with
a person, she will be interested in interacting, however she prefers supervised fun
time, where she can tell you are there and can come as she pleases, yet still
explore. Easily spooked, but you can definitely tell she REALLY appreciates a
human’s love/presence. She is just so happy and thrilled to be alive, and during
exercise time I will be minding my own business and then suddenly she is there
sniffing my foot on the bed and once she gets pets, she runs away like she has to
catch a plane haha. Plus she is quite funny, because she will be SO interested in
something/someone, then leave suddenly as if she changed her mind, and is on to
the next, less scary thing. It’s amusing to watch.
TJ has a crooked spine because he either fell (if you knew him you would see how overly
ambitious jumps are VERY much one of the things he loves to do), or was dropped as a
baby. He has had a crooked spine for as long as I can remember, and the X-ray (I took
him in for something else, but they found this accidentally) showed something that
wasn’t a full break, and had clearly healed, but was still obviously there. May be prone to
arthritis.
