Simba and Daphne are a bonded pair of rescued house rabbits. Daphne is about two and a half years old, and Simba is about six.

As the photo shows, Simba is very furry and his fur needs to be trimmed regularly so that he can more easily see, eat, and poop. Long-haired rabbits require a lot of upkeep that must be done by the adopter since there are no professional rabbit groomers.

Daphne was rescued from a hoarding situation where many rabbits were confined in close quarters and attacked one another. As a result, she has nicks in her ears.

Like most rabbits, they do not like to be picked up or held, though Daphne tolerates both pretty well. It took a long time to earn her trust, but now she enjoys being petted when she is resting. She will lick any exposed skin area of her humans.

Simba is very shy, but will sometimes allow himself to be petted, especially when he is together with Daphne. He is just so darned cute, he figures he doesn't need to be friendly to earn his keep. Daphne is the more adventurous of the two, and will explore anywhere in the house where she is allowed to roam and will jump up onto sofas, chairs, etc. Unlike Daphne, Simba is afraid to venture outside carpeted areas, where he has a good purchase with his feet.
