ROBERTA
Female, New Zealand White
DOB: 2020 estimated
Roberta is one of the 47 bunnies that was rescued by the PSPCA from horrific conditions in Lancaster, PA on March 1st.
Here’s what Roberta’s foster Mom has to say about her:
Oh, my, she has come so far. She is recovering nicely from her spay and her previously injured eye is so much better. She can see out of it fine, but I think it may always look a little bit different that the other one.
She went from cowering every time she saw us, to being willing to come over for greens (her favorite thing ever) to being willing to be nose-petted while eating greens. Now I can boop her on her tail, and she understands that that's playing. When she is free to run around, she zooms and binkies. We had an electrician come over today, and he bumped her x-pen wall when he walked past, and she didn't even flinch. Much progress! We still don't handle her much, but she has gone from being 100% sure we were going to hurt her to maybe 2%.
She would really benefit from being a free range bun, and she's so good with her bathroom habits and non-chewing that I think she will be a great free ranger. She just needs someone patient who will take their time gaining her trust. I am positive she will be a total lovebug someday!
Email lizzymcneil@hotmail.com to meet Roberta and any of our bunnies! We always have about 80 bunnies in our network but only post a few representative bunns as our adoption rate is so high.
