Mika's Story

Mika was rescued as a part of a group of bunnies who were found in a ditch on the side of the road. Most of the rabbits did not survive – they were infested with parasites and malnourished. But Mika was one of the lucky few to make it. She received medical treatment and has a clean bill of health. Mika is a medium-sized rabbit (just over 6 pounds) with velvety deep chocolate fur that almost seems to glow. We believe that she has some rex in her background. Rex rabbits have short, soft fur that points out instead of against their bodies, making them super plushy. She has very long ears.

For such a rocky start, Mika is especially friendly. She loves to receive pets and is very interactive with her foster family.. She is extremely smart, energetic and social and needs to be kept busy (to stay out of trouble!). In fact, in her first foster home she hung out with the family, their cat and pet pig – but we think she wants to be the only bunn in the house! She is a good eater, enjoying hay and quality pellets. She even tried to steal the cat’s food! She does well with her litter box. She deserves a loving home with a family that has time to spend with her – is it with you?

We adopt to indoor homes only!
