Meet Marten

Estimated birth date: Unknown

Personality: Inquisitive, Friendly toward humans, Playful, Energetic

Favorite treats: He loves kale, romaine lettuce, brussel sprouts, and any kind of fruit. Apple is a big hit!

Favorite toys and activities: He loves Oxbow hay stacks and compressed hay cubes! He loves exploring with Doc, as well as running around and binkying!

Potty trained: We’re working on it!

This animal daily routine: They both get half of their pellets around 11am, then get the other half and their veggies at 11pm.

BFF (Does this animal have or need a same species friend in their home?): Yes! Marten is bonded to Doc!

Other species this pet has been exposed to and reaction: Cat and dog. He pretty much just looked at them, then went back to what he was doing.

Has this animal been exposed to children? What was their reaction? He has not been exposed to children yet.
Health concerns: None

Behavioral concerns: Doc & Marten are in our trust training program for timidness around humans. Learn more about our trust training methods at https://www.mnpocketpetrescue.org/trust-training

Other notes: He was shy when he first came in, but this guy has improved greatly! He will now happily come up to you and climb into your lap. He is still wary to being pet, but seems used to it now and is more open to petting than Doc.

Doc & Marten came to MNPPR when they were found abandoned and in need of urgent medical care.

Due to our rescue being foster-based, not all foster homes are located in Saint Paul, MN. Marten’s foster parent prefers to meet at the Chuck & Don's Pet Food & Supplies, 2312 Crest View Dr Ste B, Hudson, WI 54016 for meet & greets, & adoptions.

Our adoption process can be found on our website here: https://www.mnpocketpetrescue.org/process

Fee: Doc & Marten have a combined adoption fee of $130

Due to health and safety concerns, we are now pursuing adoptions with additional safety measures in place. We will be asking potential adopters to discuss their individual preferences and comfort levels involving safety precautions during the greeting/adoption day step. We are HIGHLY suggesting all participants wear facial coverings, stay at least six feet apart, & use sanitization of all surfaces, and hands before and after contact.

We absolutely DO NOT SHIP ANIMALS! Please do not ask.
