Due to health and safety concerns, we are now pursuing adoptions with additional safety measures in place. We will be asking potential adopters to discuss their individual preferences and comfort levels involving safety precautions during the greeting/adoption day step. We are HIGHLY suggesting all participants wear facial coverings, stay at least six feet apart, & use sanitization of all surfaces, and hands before and after contact.

Estimated birth date: 4/28/2020

Personality: Very shy (you are unable to touch this animal without it running away or being fearful, etc), Aggressive (lunges, bites, etc), Inquisitive, Playful, Energetic, Nervous, She's going to need some time to trust! She's very brave--just not if a human is coming for her without consent.

Favorite treats: We are still learning! She's been enjoying orchard grass hay and tried some cilantro.

Favorite toys and activities: She's been doing happy binkies and enjoys surveying the world from on top of a box. We haven't introduced any toys or games yet, but we will!

Potty trained: Litter box trained

This animal daily routine: No major routines yet as Lace settles in. She definitely knows that human=food, so I make a habit of giving her something every time she sees me, even if its just pellets.

BFF (Does this animal have or need a same species friend in their home?): No, but needs a bunny friend in adoptive home.

Other species this pet has been exposed to and reaction: She has seen her foster’s shih tzu--she was interested in him and not afraid. He didn't interact with her (just walked past her pen).

Health concerns: None

Behavioral concerns: Lace is in our trust training program for several behaviors including cage guarding, lunging, & grunting. This behavior has been learned over time due to her previous living conditions and we hope with a little time and patients she can learn humans are here to love her not hurt her. Trust Training Update 1/11/2021 - Lace is still nervous when approached from above but will let us pet her if we are slow and deliberate about it. We make sure she can see and hear us coming. She's happiest when we sit with her on the floor and let her decide. She loves her head being pet, but will panic if we touch her ears at all and doesn't like her back touched. We spend time with her talking and being gentle with easy movements. She always runs to see us for food!

Other notes: Lace will need time to trust humans, but she seems like she's going to be a great companion! She's fearful of humans right now, but has an overall love for life! She's content when humans aren't directly above her--she will sprawl out in the open and do happy binkies!

Lace was transferred to MNPPR from AHS to address her behavior concerns in a more relaxed setting them a shelter can provide.
