Meet Gigi and Babette
Meet Gigi and Babette! This bonded pair are a mom (1 year old Gigi the Holland lop-English spot mix) and daughter (5-6 month old Babette the Netherland dwarf) that were surrendered to a local shelter after Gigi was being bred for Easter rabbits. They are a sweet and loving pair that love to cuddle and groom each other. Babette is a spirited and adventurous tiny gal (under 2 pounds) while Gigi is gentle, curious and slightly larger (3-4 pounds). They would absolutely love a quiet home where they could free roam part of their day by spending time exploring, doing binkies and napping together! Like many rabbits, they are not very big fans of being handled by humans but they do like gentle pets and LOVE to eat!
Gigi has a condition called megacolon which is a genetic, neurological condition that affects absorption of nutrients in the gut and can cause irregular digestion and other issues. While many rabbits can live with this condition without major problems, it is something that needs to be monitored as it can cause anemia and GI stasis (among other things). We are working with our veterinarians to get a treatment plan in place for her to do our best to keep her healthy like her daughter. Due to her condition, we would need an experienced caretaker that will be able to support her as a special needs rabbit.
Their adoption fee includes their spay surgeries, microchips and RHDV2 vaccinations. Please contact us for more information or if you'd like to meet these wonderful girls!
