Favorite treats: Cummerbund loves carrots, bell peppers, spinach, romaine lettuce, and cilantro. There's not much this bun won't eat.

Favorite toys and activities: Cummerbund enjoys rearranging his living space and grooming his buddy Peplum. Cummerbund also loves brand new cardboard boxes and exploring (aka getting into places he is not allowed).

Potty trained: Litter box trained

This animal daily routine: Cummerbund gets fed breakfast around 6 am and dinner around 6 pm. His litter box and habitat get thoroughly cleaned twice a week and spot cleaned daily. Cummerbund lives the free range lifestyle in a pet proofed home, meaning he has access to all of the home but he chooses to stay in the room with the big rug and all his toys and food.

BFF (Does this animal have or need a same species friend in their home?): Yes! Cummerbund is bonded with Peplum!

Other species this pet has been exposed to and reaction: Cummerbund has been exposed to cats and guinea pigs. He was defensive at first when he met the foster's cat, but tends to ignore her now. It is suggested that exposure to other pets be supervised. Guinea pig had to be moved to a separate room because he kept trying to "free her" from her cage.

Other notes: Cummerbund is a sweetie and will be the first of this bonded pair to open up to you. Cummerbund loves his buddy Peplum. You will frequently find him grooming her ears and face or snuggled up to her napping. He is very inquisitive and gets very excited by layout changes in his room and any new objects in his space. Cummerbund is a master of escaping. If you plan to keep him in an enclosed space, you will need to reinforce it. Cummerbund needs plenty of good, sturdy chew toys to keep him occupied otherwise he will find other things to chew on (ones that you probably won't be thrilled about!).

Cummerbund & Peplum found their way to MNPPR when their owner became ill and was unable to continue care. Cummerbund had also previously been with MNPPR as a transfer from another rescue that did not specialize in long term rabbit care.

Due to our rescue being foster-based, not all foster homes are located in Saint Paul, MN. Cummerbund’s foster parent prefers to meet at the Chuck & Don's Pet Food & Supplies 3244 W Lake St, Minneapolis, MN 55416 for meet & greets, & adoptions.

Fee: Cummerbund & Peplum have a combined adoption fee of $130.

Due to health and safety concerns, we are now pursuing adoptions with additional safety measures in place. We will be asking potential adopters to discuss their individual preferences and comfort levels involving safety precautions during the greeting/adoption day step. We are HIGHLY suggesting all participants wear facial coverings, stay at least six feet apart, & use sanitization of all surfaces, and hands before and after contact.
