Meet Chocolate Crinkle
Chocolate Crinkle is part of The Cookie Crew, a group of bunnies from a colony in Florida.
Out of the 14 colony bunnies we took in yesterday, his story is the one that breaks our hearts the most.
Chocolate Crinkle wasn’t born in the colonies. No…someone had him as a pet. They neutered him, they loved him, then they decided they were done with him.
Instead of reaching out to a rescue, they took him miles away to this known colony of abandoned domesticated bunnies and dumped him there.
Chocolate Crinkle was always the outsider. He was the only bunny in the colony not born out in the swamps and the others didn’t take nicely to him.
He was scared. He was isolated, even amongst hundreds of other bunnies. His family left him.
He’s been very friendly and has quickly become a volunteer favorite.
If we could put this bun in a swaddle and carry him around, we would. He knows people are safe but can’t understand why his family dumped him in the swamps.
