Bartleby's Story
Bartleby is a 7-year old furball who was sadly returned to our rescue through no fault of his own. Bartleby may look big with his Jersey Wooly/Mini Lop mix fur, but he is an actually a pretty small dude of only 3 lbs. Though he may be small, Bartleby exudes the attitude of bun weighing several pounds more! He likes to play hide and seek when he sees you coming, and if he catches you staring longingly at his fluffiness, he will throw you his best side eye and zoom away before you get any ideas of trying to pet him.

Bartleby is extremely food-motivated and will tolerate a quick pet when given food; he will happily accept treats like cilantro and Oxbow cookies by hand. Bartleby lights up when other rabbits are nearby! He zooms, investigates, and even forgets that the humans are stinky when distracted by neighbors, and you can occasionally sneak in a pet or two if you're quick! He was previously bonded to a very sassy lady bun, and we think Bartleby would enjoy a companion once again. Other things he enjoys include hideys, especially ones he can chew, and eating all the tasty foods.

This super floof uses his litter box well, but you do have to be mindful of the litter you choose because of his long hair tracking certain kinds around. He requires more grooming than usual because of his long hair, and his neck and chest must be given extra attention as these areas are prone to mats.

Bartleby is a very funny, entertaining rabbit who needs a special home where they will respect his boundaries and help to find him a friend. If you would like to give this handsome fella his hoppily ever after, please fill out an adoption application at www.iowarabbitrescue.org/adopt today!
