Meet Annie
She has a soft velvety dense fur with a plushy undercoat. It is soothing to have her in your lap or snuggled up by your leg while petting her.
Typical of her breed, this little girl has a friendly personality. When we sit in their pen Annie or one of her sisters will come over and sit by our leg to be petted.
Being a smaller breed of rabbit, Annie and her siblings do not take up much space which is good as these little ones are social and typically do better in pairs.
We have four females: Annie, Oreo, Lorna and Cookie and all four do well together so any pair of the four would work out well.
Annie, Lorna, Oreo and Cookie are named after cookies! We had to have some fun. They enjoy a large pen area in the basement where it's nice and cool. We use hay for bedding and they have been going potty in one area in their pen. On days when the weather allows, they also get to go outside in a large pen area. We have a spot of sweet grass growing in that area which they love to lie in. Talk about sweet smelling bunnies! Not only do we want to pet them but we want to smell them when we bring them back inside!
At first the girls were not so sure about veggies and fruits but that did not last long. They love their carrots, watermelon, celery, grapes, strawberriers and broccoli and we just simple keep adding variety. Ok, so they also love to chew cardboard and empty paper towell rolls! :) So curious these bunnies are!
Back Story: We took in one adult and seven very young rabbits from an animal shelter in Michigan. The animal shelter had picked up the rabbits after finding them in an abandoned rental home. The poor things were then and in need of water. Sadly, hungy as they were they could not get to a large bag of rabbit food was sitting by their cage. We suspect the bunnies were handled a lot until something happened and their family left leaving them behind. Thankfully that is all behind them now.
To adopt a bunny, we recommend a pair, drop us an email at: petsconnect@petsconnect.or
PetsConnect is a not for profit, all volunteer rescue organization. The animals in our program come from local shelters into our program where we care for them in our homes. We rely on donations and volunteers!
