Hi there, I'm Tess! I was rescued from living at a rural community dump. I was so scared of people then that the rescuers had to use a humane trap to catch me because I wouldn't come within 30 feet of anyone. I sure didn't know what I was missing out on - a warm place to sleep and food everyday!

I can still be a bit shy but have really come out of my shell since coming into care! I follow the other dog in my foster home around the house and yard, he helped me gain confidence in this new life. I think I would really like another dog in my adoptive home! Other than sometimes being shy, I get along great with adults and children. I haven't really been around cats so I'm not sure if I could be friends with a feline!

Don't let my hesitation with new people fool you - I can be pretty sassy when I warm up to you! This is especially true if you sit in my spot on the couch, I may just sit in front of you waiting for you to move! You'll also always be able to tell when I'm really happy, even from another room, because my tail will joyfully thump against the floor or wall. I am fully house broken and have been working on my leash manners, too!
