Hey there, I'm Shady! I was rescued during a spay/neuter clinic. Going from being a stray to a family dog was a big adjustment, but I have made a ton of progress since coming into care and am ready to find my furever home!

I am an affectionate girl and have been told that I am very easy to fall in love with. I grab at heartstrings just like I grab at my favorite toys for tug of war - I love tug of war! I also really enjoy playing with the other dogs in my foster home, wrestling and chasing are some of my favorite things! With proper introductions I get along with most other dogs. After proper introductions I also do well living with children! I am pretty big and sometimes don't realize my size, so a home with older children would probably be best, although I have also lived with smaller, dog-savvy children. I shouldn't go to a home with cats, or any other small animals, as I have too high of a prey drive.

I'm a smart and curious girl who learns quickly! I've even taken some obedience classes since coming into care and had lots of fun learning. I already know commands like "sit", "down", and "leave it". I also know how to go to my bed or kennel on command! Speaking of kennels, I'm fully kennel trained and also housebroken. I am doing pretty good on a leash but would love a family to take me for walks and continue to improve my leash manners!
