Zoey is a black and white and tan short-haired Rat Terrier mix. She a year old and weighs 9 lbs. She was found as a stray. We can’t imagine how such a wonderful little dog ended up homeless but we are happy she was found and is safe now. Zoey is fully vaccinated, microchipped, spayed, heartworm negative and on a heartworm preventative. She is housetrained, crate trained and uses a doggie door at her foster home.

Zoe is an energetic little girl. She will do well in an active home. She has a very sweet personality, and even though she’s active, playful and energetic, she’s also very capable of being a calm snuggle puppy. She loves snuggle time with her family both human and canine.

Some of her favorite things are walks and romps in the back yard with her foster family dogs. She would be a great family dog and could provide hours of love and entertainment with children who love running and playing in the back yard. No one should ever expect to win a race with her, because she is able to Run so fast no dog in her foster home or at the dog play park have ever been able to catch her. She loves to play with toys, She never tears up her toys or anything else, she has great house manners. She even enjoys the family cat! Zoey will fetch anything you throw. She learned to return thrown objects after two throws.

The only way to find out if Zoey will be a good fit in your home is to fill out the online application. Lil Paws is a very small organization, our volunteer time is reserved for interested persons who have filled out the application to adopt.

Lil' Paws Maltese Rescue and other Petite Paws depends on donations to keep the dogs in our program healthy. Many health issues are taken care of before a dog leaves a rescue: spaying, neutering, immunizations, dental care, and in some cases major surgery.
