Meet Echo
Meet Echo, she is an 8 year old Great Pyr/Lab mix, a large breed guaridan dog. Over the years I have posted about my dog Echo, I have gone back and forth and back and forth on what to do with her. She is the best dog I have ever had and also the worst. She has comforted us through so many trials (miscarriages, death, struggle, etc.). She speaks with her eyes and I know what she wants, she has fend off intrusion of our home and has been thr first one at home to meet all of our children. This love and loyalty she has displayed as an animal is something I didn't know an animal had in them (I grew up in a home that bred labs for context). She is a LSGB though and with that comes some quarks, such as being territorial and aggression when threatened, and those quarks have come to a place that my wife and I can no longer accommodate. With three kids and not enough eyes and hands between the two of us, she has shown us that we can't adequately give her the attention required to keep her quelled and the kids safe and although she loves to
Play with them and love on them and 99.9% of the time she would die for them that .1% is something I can't live with risking. If we had a farm or even a small amount of acreage I would sing a different tune, but we don't. In the last 4 Weeks I have debated on what to do,I set up an appointment to euthanize her and she ran off the morning of as if to say "nope, not doing that", I have called so many rescues and humane societies and they all have turned me away. The longer it goes on the more I can't bring myself to put her down, but I know she can't stay.
As a late ditch effort, please someone, If you have a farm or are single and would make room for a loyal and loving dog. She has done to much for my family for me to betray her by having her put down.
