Chappie Labrador Retriever & Shepherd Mix Manhattan, KS

Hi! My name is Chappie - although my foster mom jokes that I should have been named Shadow because wherever my person goes, I follow! I’m a medium energy, 2 year old, lab mix around 53 lbs (I need to gain a little weight!). Not to brag, but I’m pretty smart. I learned how to sit, shake, lay down, and use the doggy door at my foster home in just a few days! I loooove treats, so I’m sure I could learn even more cool tricks! I get along great with other dogs. My foster siblings have been trying to teach me about toys and how to play since I don’t know much about that. I’m potty trained and have done well in the house when my foster parents leave. I don’t care much for crates - they’re scary. I’m also pretty good on a leash and I love going on walks! I can be a little skittish so my foster mom says I’ll need some continued leash training. My ideal home would have a gentle and understanding person who is home a lot that I can give all my lovin’ to or some paw siblings to show me what being a dog is all about and keep me company when our hooman is away! No small children because my tail wagging can get a little crazy and I don’t really believe in personal space ?
I’m neutered and UTD on vaccines and preventatives. I did test positive for Heart Worms though, but I’ve already started treatment! I will need continued treatment after adoption. I can’t wait to find my furever home!!
