Brown Sugar Boxer & Staffordshire Bull Terrier Mix Manhattan, KS

OH! Hi: I did not see you come in. My name is Brown Sugar and I am a 3-4 year old female Staffordshire Terrier and Boxer mix puppy. I was found running loose and taken to a shelter where nobody came to claim me. That is when my foster dad came to save me and now I am a Purple PAWS dog. We did not have any information about my past, or even my name, so my foster dad named me Brown Sugar because I am about the same color and just as sweet as brown sugar.
I absolutely love everybody I have met and I get excited when you come to see me. In fact, I got so excited at first that I would jump up on you to get attention. My foster dad has taught me to sit when you come in and wait for my lovin’. I still jump up a little when I get excited so a home without small children or people who are unsteady on their feet would be the best for me. I know sit, stay, shake hands, and I come when called even though I will probably be following you wherever I can. I walk well on a leash and my foster dad thinks I would make a great jogging companion. I am an active girl and will need walks, jogs, or a fenced yard to run and play so I can get my exercise. I am house trained and I do well if taken out often to potty in the grass.
I have been good with all the other dogs I have met. I was a little timid when I first met my foster sister but in a few hours we were romping and playing tug-O-war. I have not shown any food aggression while eating and I even share food and treats with my foster sister and the cats. I am at an ideal weight of 60 pounds and am a healthy girl. I am very good with the cats in my foster home. If they are OK with me I will give them nose kisses and cheek rubs. If the cat hisses or slaps at me I just go away and leave them alone. The free range chickens at my foster home are curious things and I will sit and watch them but I do not try to chase them.
I almost forgot to tell you, but belly rubs are the bestest thing ever. It feels so good it will make one of my back legs dance in the air when I get a belly rub. I love to cuddle with you on the couch, in the bed, or anywhere I can.
I have been spayed and up to date on my vaccinations. I tested negative for Heartworms, Lyme disease, anaplasmosis, and Ehrlichosis. I have the remnants of a callus on one hip that is almost all healed up now. My doctor said this is probably from being kenneled for long periods of time.
