Jolene Chihuahua Mix Cincinnati, OH

Say Hello to Miss JOLENE! Her name is a Dolly favorite. Her foster mom lovingly calls her Jo. Jolene was from the 150+ rescue from a single Tennessee home. It only took 2 days to warm up to her foster mom. I think she was smart enough to know that a much better life was right in front of her. Jolene is a 3-4 year old chihuahua/terrier mix. Obviously, she gets along with all of the dogs in her foster home and only has an occasional accident in the home. She insists on sleeping in bed with her foster mom. She is still occasionally shy at times but is coming along nicely. Jolene loves to roll around in the sunshine and sunbathe and she can run circles around the other dogs in her foster home when playing!
She is only crated when her foster mom has to run errands and willingly goes into the crate, with the promise of a snack. I told you she was smart! She also loves to chew, so having lots of chew toys around is a must.
Jolene is not a big fan of small children. She will run and hide just to avoid them. Now, if they have food, she will gladly follow and pick up anything that hits the floor. Because she is so fast, she is a great fly catcher. You'll never need a fly swatter with Jolene!
Jo is dark, rusty brown in color with white on her paws, tail and face. She has a very soft coat. She has shown no aggression towards humans. She was involved with a brief scuffle with another dog over food but that was initiated by the other dog.
Jolene is an all around good girl. She is loving all of the attention she is getting and comes when called. It would be best for Jo to have another dog in the house. Being around so many dogs her entire life, she would miss having a friend to play with. A fenced yard is also preferred.
