Rudy Border Collie & Pointer Mix Cincinnati, OH

Meet Rudy, a sweet six year old possible pointer maybe with some border collie mix but in reality it’s a best guess. Rudy is a bigger boy weighing in a little over fifty pounds. Rudy was picked up as a stray from a partner shelter. Why no one came back to claim this great guy is a mystery to all. Shelters are reaching that time where they are overcrowded and in desperate need of rescues to help them out. This is no exception for Rudy as he came from one of our WV high intake partner shelters.

Rudy does fantastic meeting a wide variety of people. He will greet you with a wagging tail that never seems to stop. Rudy’s favorite thing to do is take a walk at a local park. Despite no formal training, he walks very well on a leash. He also loves chilling on a park bench watching people pass by. Nothing seems to bother him, not the joggers or the bikers going by. Rudy also loves the kids at the park. You can tell he once lived with kids as he immediately perks up when he sees them. D of course tail wagging starts. Don’t fret though if parks are not your thing, hanging out at home on the couch will satisfy this guy as well.

Rudy has met several dogs and has done well with them. He has met small dogs, large dogs, older dogs, and even tolerated a hyper four month old puppy who seemed to want to get to know him up close and personal. It has been reported by the shelter Rudy came from that he is good with children as well. Cats unfortunately are unknown.

Rudy is a bit nervous in the car but he eventually sits in the back on the floorboard. Traveling may not necessarily be this guy's thing right away. Rudy was not initially crate trained but he has come to master that very quickly. He may not even need one once he has his routines established.

Rudy loves to hang out next to you on the couch. He is such a sweet and loving guy looking for approval and head scratches. Rudy is the perfect age and energy level for someone looking for a mix of some energy with some cuddle time. He enjoyed walking around the fenced yard but definitely wanted to come in with the hot sun after doing his business. Rudy would make a great addition to any family!

Rudy is Lyme positive. Rudy will need a regular yearly booster of Lyme due to this diagnosis. Lyme is a tick borne disease that many dogs live with.
