Lucky aka Buddy Boy Black Labrador Retriever & Beagle Mix Cincinnati, OH

Lucky (aka Buddy or Buddy Boy) came from a high intake shelter in West Virginia. He is 32 pounds, and possibly a lab beagle mix, but he rarely makes a sound. He is a very quiet dog. He had been fixed so someone did care about him some time in his life. He is estimated to be 9 years old.

When he came to us he couldn’t go up steps at all so we think he had never been inside. He goes up and down the steps really easily now but hasn’t ventured up the stairs in the house. He is potty trained so he isn’t crated at all. He is great around dogs and cats.

He has not been around children yet, but I feel really small children might not be a good fit if they want to grab him and roll on him all the time. We do not crate him as he doesn’t need it. During the day he loves to sleep in the cat bed, but at night he loves the big round dog bed to sleep on.

Lucky walks well on a leash and loves to be outside rolling in the grass. He has been to the dog park and just roamed around, greeting all the people there.

He is not a dog that plays with other dogs, but would be a great companion for one or a lonely person. He loves riding in the car and jumps in with his tail wagging ready for his next experience.

He is also fascinated by the TV. He likes to watch frisbee golf and when they disappear off the screen he looks in the kitchen to see where they went lol! He doesn’t go on the furniture but we would let him if he wants to.
