Molly Australian Shepherd Mix Cincinnati, OH

Meet Molly, a beautiful Australian Shepard at about two years old. Molly came to HART from a rural county where she has spent her entire life living on a chain. When Molly came in she was extremely matted and in need of pre preventatives due to multiple flee and tick infestation. As a result Molly tested positive for heartworm, Lyme, and Ehrlichia. Molly’s treatment is now complete and this beauty is ready for adoption.

Molly is most likely around sixty pounds and should probably be more like forty five ish. She would need an adopter to follow her strict diet to reduce those pounds and to keep up on her coat maintenance. Molly has a double coat and should therefore be combed not shaved.

Molly has loved getting used to the indoor life at her foster home. Her favorite place is snuggling next to foster mom and watching TV. When Molly wants loving she will paw at you until that love is provided. Molly has been doing well meeting other dogs. She seems to prefer the calmer low key dogs in her foster. Her interactions with other dogs is limited so we are looking for a home with no other dogs and cats to help Molly transition to a furever home.

Molly loves people and was around children in her previous home. She is a very affectionate girl and enjoys being on the receiving end as well. She is absolutely fantastic with children and has made several neighborhood friends!

Molly needs to have a physical fenced in yard or leash walked. She loves walking around outside exploring. Molly does great in or out of her crate. She is using the restroom outside and has not had an accident as of yet.

Due to the fact that Molly was constrained on a chain her entire life, her interactions with dogs will need some work.

Molly was able to be around dogs with no or minimal issues at the trainers house (who groomed her) and at an experienced foster home. However she does bark when around other dogs and will need someone who can work with her at this. The best option would be an adopter who would be willing to take Molly to a trainer in order to curtail these behaviors as the barking can sometimes be overwhelming to people. This is a workable behavior to overcome though in due time.
