SELBY is 10 years old and weighs 38 pounds.

The first thing I need to admit to, I mean, let's be honest and get this right out into the open – I rip squeakers out of dog toys. They drive me mad. After that squeaker is gone I will carry the toy around for months until they rot. I think the squeakers disappear into the trash. Ok, that's the worst thing I do – not too bad, eh?

I am a handsome little fellow and have grown up in the same home I currently reside in. It used to be a peaceful place but now there are so many young children running around. I think my owner wants me to have a quieter environment where I don't act so protective. I have never bitten anyone, but I have gotten a bit nippy when kids pester me and aren't respectful. It's mainly when they are running all around and I cannot tell what is happening. I think that is the reason I have to go to a new home, I will really miss my person, though I know I can love someone new who is good to me.

I can get used to other animals, if I am introduced to them slowly. I live with another dog and cat right now. I used to chase our cat, but gave up on that. Cats seem to rule, don't know why.

I am well-trained in the command department and will: SIT, WAIT AND STAY. I also understand and obey: DROP IT and LEAVE IT. I have been told I am very smart and I must agree. I mean – look at me – do I look smart or what?

Snuggling is on the top of my list of favorite activities AND perching on the top of the couch and watching out the window like a cat. They aren't the only beasts who can do that. There are lots of interesting things happening outside that front window. Walks are good, very good. Did I mention I like walks? I love walks.
