Phoebe is a sweet 10 year old Yorkie who loves attention and being a little Princess. She is in rescue due to a conflict with another female dog in her home that her owner can no longer manage. Phoebe prefers to be an only dog and we’re certain she will not mind being the center of attention.

She loves having her belly rubbed, being petted and snuggling on the couch while you watch TV. She can use doggy stairs to get on and off the bed and couch by herself. She is crate trained and will nap in her crate or doggy bed during the day. She sleeps in a carrier at night. She loves treats and food, but food needs to be controlled to keep her girlish figure, currently 8.9 lbs. She has had a weight problem in the past, to be her healthiest we want to insure she doesn’t gain weight. She is accustomed to having her teeth brushed and still has lost most of her teeth. She eats dry kibble which has been moistened and Psyllium powder to bulk up her stool and make her feel more full.

Phoebe is accustomed to someone being home most of the day. Working from home would be great. She is trained to go outside and to use use pee pads if no one is available to let her out. Thunder is not her best friend.

Phoebe is fully vetted, spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention. We’ve included a cute puppy picture of her. She also just got groomed so her long hair is now short.

** Please note: Due to their size, our dogs are not suitable for homes with children under 5..

We do not have a facility, all dogs are fostered in the homes of our volunteers. If you are interested in adopting a dog from Lil' Paws Maltese Rescue and other Petite Paws, please visit our website at www.lilpaws-malteserescue.org and fill out an adoption application. This is the first step in our adoption process. Our goal is to place our dogs in safe, stable and loving homes in the Austin Metropolitan area. Thanks for looking!

Lil' Paws Maltese Rescue and other Petite Paws depends on donations to keep the dogs in our program healthy. Many health issues are taken care of before a dog leaves a rescue: spaying, neutering, immunizations, dental care, and in some cases major surgery. Because of the cost of this care, donations are essential to enable us to continue our work. If you would like to show appreciation for what we do and help us continue to do it please go to our website homepage and click the donate button. We thank you in advance for your support.
