Meet Tanner

Tanner is 12 years old and weighs 13 pounds.

My name is Tanner and I was one big mess when my current human saved me 9 months ago. I had bad teeth, no hair, and tons of fleas. Can you imagine – WOW – I was UGLY with a capital U. Now, well, let me tell you, I am one handsome fellow. OK, minus a few more teeth, but man o' man do I have a fine coat of hair now. Have you seen my pictures? And with those sunglasses – it just finishes the outfit. I am a hip dude!

I do admit though, I can be a bit of a scaredy cat. What can I say – I am only 8 pounds so I am scared of bigger, noisier things such as: big dogs, cats, children, strangers and so forth. I do get along with other small dogs, though. And I really like to be with my human – I get kind of anxious and nervous when I am alone. I think I need an emotional support human. I sometimes bark when I am in a dark room and people come in or if I am in the car alone. My human thinks my eyesight might not be 20/20 so I bark because I cannot always tell what is coming at me.

If you think you can handle the important role of being that human, with the empathy and compassion it takes to handle my ups and downs, then you are the one for me.

INTERESTED in Tanner? The first step is to fill out our online Adoption Application (address link below)

NOTE: All of our dogs live in foster homes so it is not possible to setup a meet and greet prior to submitting an adoption application. Filling out an application doesn't obligate you to adopt, but it does save your place in line if there are multiple people interested.

ADOPTION APPLICATION (Type or cut & paste the below website address into your browser): http://www.sdroregon.com/adoption-application.htm

If our Adoption Coordinator determines you are a good match they will contact you. This is a great opportunity for you to find out more about Tanner and decide if you would like to setup a meet and greet.

ADOPTION FEE is $150, and there’s a 10% Discount for Senior Citizens and Veterans.

Learn more about the ADOPTION PROCESS here (Type or cut & paste the below website address into your browser): http://www.sdroregon.com/adoption-process.htm

We apologize, but we are not able to answer individual questions about our dogs. We are a small, all-volunteer organization and we receive hundreds of inquiries. If you want to learn more about a particular dog, then please submit an Adoption Application. If your application is chosen, you will have the opportunity to meet the dog and to get answers to all of your questions. Thank you for your understanding.
