Treasure Terrier & Dachshund Mix Normal, IL

Meet Treasure! Treasure is a 9-10 year old male Terrier/Dachshund mix who weighs around 9 pounds. This guy is a real survivor. He was found wandering the streets of the west side of Chicago with another little dog. He survived a large municipal animal shelter and he probably has lived a long time with health issues. Considering all that, Treasure is a happy, loving, and spunky little gentleman.

Treasure does have multiple medical issues, but none of the prevent him from living a happy fulfilling life: 1. Large peri-anal hernia (doesn't seem to bother him.) 2. Oral/nasal fistula 3. 3/6 systolic heart murmur (lungs are clear; no cough). He will need to take a stool softener for the rest of his life to aid the passage of stool.

Treasure needs a home where his person or people will keep an eye on his medical conditions. He will need a home with no rough housing. He is not a delicate little fellow but the area where his hernia is will need to be safeguarded from injury.

Our little man loves other little dogs, but not all of them love him. Our little survivor can come on a little strong, but he has so much love to give and deserves a happy life.

Treasure will be ready to go home with his new family on 11/22/19.

His minimum adoption fee is $235 plus a $12 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents.

He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
