Meet Karl Barx

Shepherd/Lab Mix|Male|5-6 months old|29 lbs|Adoption Fee $400

Meet Karl Barx. Karl likes long walks in the park, meeting new people and snuggling up with a movie. Karl is listed as a Shepherd/lab mix, but I think he is an Australian Shepherd or Heeler. He has “blue” markings on his chest and feet that is the namesake of the blue Heeler.

Karl has been working with the perfect dog training method. He is on a regimented schedule. We walk in the morning on leash and off leash in a park setting at night. Karl will not run away off-leash, but does not know his boundaries, so he is not ready to be off-leash full-time.

Karl is puppy potty trained. He knows to go outside, but is learning to indicate. Today was the first time he indicated, so he should quickly adjust. He sleeps in a crate at night, but during the day he has free reign. Karl is currently employed as a greeter for a Milwaukee factory, but would happily quit his job for the opportunity for a full-time home.

Karl is still in his puppy stage, but will most likely keep his mid to high energy as he matures. He is one of the smartest dogs that I have ever had the pleasure to work with. Karl is the type of dog that needs to be challenged physically and mentally. If you don’t challenge him, he will challenge you.

Karl is teething, so he is a little bit mouthy. He is conscientious of small children and infants but can startle the little ones with his mouthy exploration. Karl has been with several dogs without issue. He loves to play and would love a partner to play tug of war with. Karl has not been cat tested.

Karl sounds like the perfect dog. Smart, fun to play with, great around people and other dogs; however, Karl will most likely keep his mid to high energy level as he gets older. Combine that with his high intelligence, his boredom and sense to explore could cause some issues. If you think you can come home from work, let the dog go outside and sit on the couch and play Candy Crush, Karl is NOT the dog for you. If you are looking for a mate with personality and adventure, Karl is the perfect match.
