Cheechee Chinchilla Chinchilla Wolcott, IN

We have a standard grey female chinchilla that is looking for her new home. Her name is Cheechee! She came in to the rescue a bit ago and is now available for adoption! We have down that Cheechee was born around 7/2016, which means she’s recently turned 3 years old! Great time to take her home.

Cheechee’s color is called standard grey, which is the classic color in chinchillas – a greyish color over his back, with a white belly. Cheechee is a fur chewer, which means that she chews on her fur. When you look at her pictures, you can see the fur over her hips looks a bit uneven, like a bad haircut, that is where she is fur chewing. Don’t you worry though, this is a cosmetic issue – similar to us chewing our fingernails! It doesn’t signify a health problem or anything like that, it simply affects how she looks. This may continue her entire life, or it may start and stop… it’s all up to her.

Cheechee is very curious and outgoing. When you open her cage door, she LOVES to come up to the front of the cage and see what you’re doing. If you’re not careful, she may even hop out of the cage! She’s a very sweet girl and what’s even better – she loves being scratched! When you scratch her neck, she will tilt her head and act all adorable… it’s so cute! You will love scratching her. When she’s done, she may make some noises at you and move away, but she can’t go without scratches forever! You will melt, after giving her some scritches. We promise! She occasionally can be a bit talkative if she’s not in the mood, but she is just all bark and no bite… super super sweet girl. She doesn’t bite.

Cheechee would make a great “first chinchilla” for someone who has never had one before.

This chinchilla is currently living alone, and we do not know if she gets along with other chinchillas. If you are curious as to whether she might get along with your, or one of our, chinchillas, let us know and we’ll see what we can do.

This chinchilla will come with some food to start you out (2 pounds of Mazuri pellets), a goodie bags of chews/treats, and a printed out version of our care packet. She will also come with a lifetime of help and support, should you ever need it. If more supplies are needed, we also sell a variety of chinchilla supplies, from cages to hidey houses to hammocks and everything in between.

Regardless of past chinchilla experience, all potential homes will be asked to read our chinchilla care packet and fill out our adoption application/chinchilla questionnaire. If you are unwilling to do this, please do not waste our time or yours. No chinchilla will go to a new home without an adoption application being filled out - no exceptions.
