Meet Sallie
Helllooooooo, my name is Sallie and I'm 100% Hound dog. I am about 17 months old, weigh around 40 lbs, am spayed and up to date on all of my vaccines and I get heartworm tested next week. I'll let you know how that turns out. I came to PPAWS after a nice lady found me roaming the SW Kansas countryside. I dont think I had a good life because the lady told my foster mom that she found marks on my neck and face that looked like I may have been tied up somewhere.
I do not know words like sit, no, or down, but I think I'm pretty smart and should learn those quickly. I love people, especially kids, but men scare me a little, just be slow when you introduce yourself.
Dogs and cats are awesome, if I could play with one or two all day, I would be the happiest girl ever! I'm still learning that there is a difference between dog toys and human shoes and furniture, so please be patient with me. I would love to be part of an active family that has a big fenced yard for me to run around in. Apartments wouldn't be a good idea because I am not the most quiet when I first go into my kennel. I quiet down after a while but it can take a few minutes.
So, if you think I could be your girl, please fill out an application, I would love to meet you!
FOSTER UPDATE 11-16-19:
Hi, I'm Sallie and I am 100% Hound dog. I am about 15 months old, weigh around 40 lbs, spayed, up to date on all of my vaccines and heartworm negative. I came to PPAWS after a nice lady found me roaming the SW Kansas countryside. I don't think I had a good life because the lady told my foster mom that she found marks on my neck and face that looked like I may have been tied up somewhere. My foster mom thinks I was on my own for quite a while because I'm still learning that going potty in the house is a no-no, and it takes me a while to trust. I do love people and kids, though older kids would be best because I could knock little ones over.,I just need a patient family that will give me the time to completely trust them.
I have learned how to sit, but am still working on other commands.
Dogs are awesome, if I could play with one or two all day, I would be the happiest girl ever! Cats are also OK as long as they stand their ground, and don't run from me. Since I am a hound dog, my instinct is to chase anything that moves. I'm not trying to be mean or aggressive, just want to play. I'm still learning that I can't chew on everything around the house, only my toys, so again, please be patient with me. I would love to be part of an active family that has a big fenced yard for me to run around in. Apartments wouldn't be a good idea because I am not the most quiet when I first go into my kennel, I quiet down after a while but it can take a few minutes.
