Cupcake, Sugar, Tiny, Chubby Cookie, & Cora Rat Rat Wolcott, IN

We have a group of 1 year old female rats that are looking for their forever home(s). We got in this group of 5 rats back in August, and they are now ready to leave! Unfortunately, their previous owner was too busy with schooling and activities to keep up with their care. But that’s ok, that just means someone else gets to enjoy these wonderful girls!

We have down that these girls were born around September 2018, which makes them just over a year old.

There’s a little bit of everything in this bunch! There’s Sugar, who is a dark eyed white. There’s Tiny, who is the agouti hooded. There’s Chubby Cookie, who is the black Berkshire. There’s Cora, who is the beige hooded. And there’s Cupcake, who is the agouti capped.

These girls are super sweet rats! When you open the cage, they all want to come out and come onto your hand and see what’s going on. That’s why we don’t have a ton of great pics of them, because you open the cage and they allllll want to come out! We then have to rat-wrangle and then we end up with both hands filled with rats, no hand for the phone / camera, and blurry pics. So I guess you’ll have to come meet them in person! Tiny can be a bit of a nibbler at times, and sometimes can be hard to catch. Though if you let her come to you at her pace, she will! These girls are chill when you’re holding them and are very sweet. Other than Tiny nibbling a bit, none of the rats have ever bitten, and even she hasn’t nibbled very hard.

The previous home told us that these girls enjoy cereal, watermelon, cheese, and yogurt! They definitely aren’t picky, as they have eaten everything we have given them here!

They love their hammock and they love to explore in their multi-level cage. Their previous owner used to let them crawl on the outside of the cage while the cage was being cleaned, and she said they really enjoyed this!

These girls are up for adoption as a group. Please do not contact and ask to just adopt one or a couple of them. They CAN come with their cage for an additional fee.

As with all our rescues, these rats will each come with some food to start you out (lab blocks) and a printed out version of our rat care packet. We also have additional supplies for sale -- many of the things we sell for chinchillas work great with rats as well (they like the hidey houses, the hammocks, and so on), and we also sell lab blocks at $1.25 per pound.

Regardless of past rat experience, all potential homes will be asked to read our rat care packet and fill out our adoption application/rat questionnaire. If you are unwilling to do this, please do not waste our time or yours. No rat will go to a new home without an adoption application being filled out - no exceptions.
