Meet Buddy Guy (B. Gee) - Amazing Rescue
From life on the streets in Houston, to the high volume shelter, to Second Chance Pets wearing costumes!!! Buddy Guy (B.Gee) was found as a stray in horrible condition with severe demodex mange, a hurt paw, and heartworms. He did not trust people and he was living on the streets all alone, dehydrated, hungry, and scared. His mange was SO BAD that it hurt him to even walk. See his rescue video that was shared across Houston at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5bVuqvY4Vo8&feature=youtu.be.
Since being rescued, his paw has healed, he has been treated for heartworms, and his hair has almost completely grown back. Even better, his personality has really come out and he is an extremely sweet boy that loves to give hugs and snuggles. He really does love everyone he meets - quite a change from when he was first found! He is approximately 2 years old, so he's out of the puppy stage. He is house-trained, low maintenance and does great being left out with free roam in his foster home. Weighing in at under 25 lbs, he's the perfect size to crawl into your lap while you watch t.v. After being on the street for so long, his love language is definitely touch! Ear scratch, head pet, neck rub, calming body massage - he will melt on your lap and give you an appreciative doggie purr. He does great on a leash, on car rides, playing chase with other dogs and being a calm lovebug with kids at any age. No cats for this guy please. He's even learned a few tricks from a trainer, like staying on a mat while he watches you cook instead of being under your feet and being more confident around sudden noises. If you need a new couch buddy, bed-mate, and best friend then Buddy Guy is your boy!
If you would like a meet and greet, please send an email to pets2adopt@yahoo.com to find out if I will be coming to the SCP Adoption Event at Clear Lake Petco on Saturday so you can see how great I am.
Adopter for this dog must reside in the immediate Houston/Galveston area and be at least 25 years old.
A home visit may be required prior to this dog going to any home.
The minimum donation for a dog is $175 (or $225 for puppies).
Adoptions are held on Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Clear Lake Petco, 2410 Bay Area Boulevard. All dogs are microchipped, on heartworm protection, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed and treated for fleas. Since all of our dogs are in foster homes, an individual dog may not be at our weekly Adoption Event due to conflict with a foster's schedule. If you are interested in meeting a particular dog, please send an email to pets2adopt@yahoo.com so that the Dog Coordinator can let you know if the dog will be at the Saturday Adoption Event at Petco. If you just want to meet some great dogs looking for their forever home, please come visit with us on Saturday!
