Archie Mixed Breed Madison, WI

Hi! My name is Archie. I arrived in Madison by way of Jackson State University campus in Alabama where I was found wondering around alone. Why was I all alone, you ask? I can't remember!!
I'm about 2 years old, 13 lbs, and am a mellow fellow and good companion. I hang out in my dog basket under her desk while she is working, but when it's time to eat I'm so happy! I prance and spring into the air with glee. My foster mom feeds me in something called a kennel, and now I go in there by myself sometimes to relax on a super-cozy blanket. When we go outside in the backyard, I've been known to indulge in zoomies and try to get her chihuahuas to play with me. Don't tell my foster mom, but her two chihuahuas are grumpy! But you know what? It doesn't get me down! I just leave them alone because that's what a southern gentleman is supposed to do.
I am a bit shy when meeting new people but I get over it fast when I see they are kind and gentle with me. I like to follow my foster mom around the house. When she leaves for errands, I get a little sad and may give out some yips, but I settle down after awhile. My foster mom calls me a 'velcro dog' which I think means I am super handsome, right? I also have recently been introduced to a collar and leash and am starting with the basics - wearing my collar and dragging the leash around in the house. Soon I'll graduate to taking walks outside on leash, but we're taking it slow so I can have positive experiences.
I am a champion bed sleeper at night! I curl up into a ball and cuddle quietly all the night through- I would greatly appreciate the same arrangement in my forever home but I'm also working on loving my crate. I am a hearty eater, take treats gently, and give kisses to people I trust. I don't mind being picked up, I love petting, and I also love sitting on the couch and watching TV with the family. Wherever my people are, that's where I am too. My forever home will need to continue building my confidence so I can be my best self. I am super loving and sweet - will you be mine?

Dogs from Underdog Pet Rescue come with the following medical care already provided:
Spay/Neuter
Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella Vaccinations (as age appropriate-puppy adopters may need to cover some vaccine boosters OR they have the option of bringing the pet to Underdog for complimentary completion of these vaccines)
Heartworm Test (for dogs over 6mo)
Microchip
Deworming
Heartworm and Flea/Tick Preventative
Any other necessary medical treatment as recommended by veterinarian

Our adult dog adoption fee is $275. Our puppy (under 5 mo) is $350. Our senior dog (over 8 yrs) is $250.
