Hoss English Setter Lincoln, NE

Hoss is an 8 year old English setter. He is fostered with another setter and they do very well together. He has excellent recall and comes to his name or a short whistle. He stays close by his foster and they are refreshing his basic commands(sit, stay, come). He is doing great!

He likes to takes lots of rests (naps) and will seek out companionship for cuddling. He likes children because he cannot get enough petting in for the day!

Hoss is definitely a low energy setter retired from hunting. He now spends his time exploring the outdoors at a leisurely pace.
His favorite time of day is any time he can lay down where ever he wants. Hoss is currently crated during the day while his humans are at work but they don’t think there would be any worry of he was able to be gated or left in the house.

Hoss is a healthy middle aged setter. OESR was informed he may have seizures but his foster has not witnessed one. It is good to note that sometimes a seizure may be triggered by extreme changes in weather or environment. Hoss is afraid of thunderstorms but a savvy adopter will be able to help him be calm. He is not afraid of loud noises or gunshots. He just doesn’t want to hunt anymore. More naps.

All adoptive homes must have a fenced yard or other type of containment or boundaries for the dog. Vet and personal reference checks as well as a home visit will be conducted prior to final adoption approval for all OESR dogs.
