Meet Rosie

Hi everyone, my name is Rosie. Some may call me a senior girl at 8 to 10 years old, but I prefer aged like fine wine! My life before ASF wasn’t the best. I was primarily used for breeding and missed out on some socializing in my younger years. I am a bit shy and fearful of new things. I seem more comfortable around women than men, but I do love my foster dad. I’ve never been around kids, but I would probably be a little scared with lots of activity around me. I LOVE other dogs and I seem to be fine with cats, too.

I’m looking for my forever home, but I must admit I have a few requests. I am looking for a quiet house so I can comfortably lounge around. I need my forever humans to know it will take me a bit of time to trust them... they must be patient with me, but in return I promise to love them with my whole heart and my wiggle butt. I would love a dog friend, who is confident and well adjusted to help show me the ropes of being a real dog! They can be bigger than me or smaller, I just want at least one friend.

My forever home should know that I’m a low energy gal, but if we go for a walk, I will do a great job walking on a leash. I rarely bark, but will occasionally whine when I need something. When my foster parents are gone, I free roam the house and never have accidents or destroy things. They tell me I’m such a good girl and I’m beginning to believe them! My foster parents also tell me how beautiful and sweet I am! It’s enough to make a girl blush!

Rosie is spayed, up to date on all vaccinations, on monthly preventatives, and about 42 pounds. She is house trained and crate trained, though she prefers a soft bed outside of the crate. Rosie has had surgery to remove mammary tumors so will have to be watched for recurrences, though it’s unlikely.

Rosie is currently being fostered southwest of the St.Louis MO area. She will need to have any potential adopters come meet her to be sure it’s love at first sight!
