Meet Penny Proud

My name is Penny Proud. I'm cute and I'm loud and I've got it going on!

As Penny's foster mom I can truly say she is one of the EASIEST and most well-behaved fosters I've gotten. Penny is a special type of Lab, I like to call her a Lap Lab since she enjoys sitting right on top of you and hugging you if you're snuggling. She was an owner surrender from a family who just didn't have the time to have a dog. She is around 6 years old and has all the best qualities of a middle-aged dog. She is usually very quiet in the house although she does whine from time to time, probably just sad and confused on how she ended up with us. Outside she loves to play fetch with her baseball. If you don't plan on throwing the ball... DON'T PICK IT UP or she will yell at you until you do!
Penny hasn't had an abundance of training but is learning quickly. She walks okay with a harness but could use some more help with understanding how that's done. She seems to understand sit, but that's as many 'tricks' as she has wanted to do with me. She is fully potty-trained, but not kennel trained. The family who had her never used a kennel, I have put her in her own room/ gated off the stairs so she stays upstairs and haven't had an issue. No chewing, peeing, nothing, just waits for you to get home, Penny's only 'quirk' is that she really likes food... so you can't leave it where she can get to it, or she thinks it's hers.
Penny is currently living with kids, cats, and other dogs. LOVES kids, could care less about the dogs, and gets a little iffy around one of the cats. If a cat is going to hiss or strike out she gets really nervous and will start to bark. So if she is going to live with a cat, should probably be a dog savvy one.
Penny loves her people and hopes her new ones are out there somewhere.

Penny’s adoption fee is $250, and adopters must live within 175 miles of the Quad City Area.
