Axl Mixed Breed Corvallis, OR

Axl is a 6-year-old all-american mixed breed dog. Here is what his current owners tell us about Axl and his history:

We adopted Axl as a puppy and he has been an important part of our household. Since the day we brought him home he has been loyal, obedient, and smart. Our family is heartbroken at the thought seeking a new home for Axl, however we want Axl to live a happy and fulfilling life.

We have added two dogs to our house over the last 3 years and Axl is not adjusting well. He does not like having other dogs in the household and has been aggressive towards them on two separate occasions. He is not doing well adjusting to the pack. This has caused us to not allow Axl to be unsupervised with our dog Rose, and he is no longer allowed to be around our puppy. Since adding the two other dogs Axl also has shown food aggression towards the other dogs so we feed each separately and do not allow food to be out.

Axl does not enjoy being crated, he has been trained however it causes severe stress and I would not recommend it, he can be an escape artist when in a smaller crate and has been able to wiggle his way out before. He is able to be in a dog “run” our smallest one is 5x16 and he is content with that.

Axl is so friendly! He loves people and enjoys meeting other dogs, he should not however be left alone with other dogs and does not like other dogs in the household. We have a cat in our home and he has always been friendly towards the cat, he likes the cat to clean his ears.

Axl is fit and athletic, he loves to run and play! He doesn’t really play with toys but will chase after a ball, he is a people pleaser and loves everyone’s full attention. Axl likes to ride in the truck, he can ride in the back of our truck if tethered with his leash. He enjoys camping and swimming, especially if we are in the water with him. Axl goes fishing with us and loves lounging in the boat watching us fish
