Max Siberian Husky & Samoyed Mix St Helens, OR

We picked up a Samoyed mix from a Portland shelter, and after he had been with us a while we decided to do a DNA test. Guess what? Max is more Sibe than Sam, even though his personality is very much Samoyed. Max has been with us for a couple of months now and he is a great dog. Max is only 2 years old so he has a lot of energy and really likes nothing more than a good run. And can he ever run. If you wanted to do active stuff like agility or skijoring or sledding, he would be perfect. He had been an only dog, but he blended into our foster home’s pack of 4 nicely. Max is totally house trained and has never had even one accident in the house. He walks nicely on leash. He knows sit and down but being a northern breed, sometimes likes to ignore you. He can be stubborn. Max is a VERY friendly dog and seems to really like everybody he meets. But his very favorites are men. When our foster dad goes outside, Max will run from window to window to see him and then watch the door until he comes back. We don't know how he would be with cats because he hasn’t met any since he has been with us. Because he has so much energy he needs a home where someone is there most of the time. If Max is left home alone he will get into trouble. If you are interested in Max or you know someone that would give him a good home, he would love to hear from you.

Max’s perfect home would be as a solo dog, or with a female, with people around most of the time, and his new parents would be active outdoors to burn off some of his energy.
