Meet Maggie ***Special needs***
Maggie is a wonderful Boxer girl who is approximately 1 year old. She is sweet, playful and loving. Maggie suffers from Ataxia, which is a neurological disorder caused by either an injury or an internal problem. This disorder causes a loss of balance or coordination due to sensory dysfunction. Maggie doesn't let her disorder slow her down. She walks with a little swing in her hips and she sometimes gets her back legs a little tangled up. She is very petite at 39 lbs and seems very normal most of the time, except when she walks with her little swagger. Maggie loves to play ball and is always anxious to play! She sometimes has incontinence issues. She is a beautiful girl who needs a patient and loving person to be her friend.
Please know that if you come to meet any of the dogs at our facility, they may be excited to see you and extra active. Many times, this is not a true picture of how they may act in a warm, safe home setting. We, as volunteers, often take our shelter dogs on home visits and they become calm and act like completely different animals. This pertains to potty habits and demeanor. Please realize that they need a chance to shine out of the shelter setting!
Please call us at 618-542-DOGS(3647) or if you have any specific questions about me, please email the shelter volunteer at pchsinfo@yahoo.com or go to www.perrycountyhumanesocietyil.com to apply.
