Molly was a stray in Fayette County, Iowa, and she did not get claimed. Her time was up so Waverly Pet Rescue took her in. She is up to date on shots, tested heartworm negative, and spayed.

Molly is about 1-1/2 years old as of Feb. 2019 and weighs about 40 pounds. She is very puppy like and full of energy. She needs an active home that can keep her busy. She likes other dogs. She barks at cats so a home without cats would be best. She wants attention so bad that she nibbles your fingers once in a while. Because she does this, she should have a home with no young children. She does not bite, just nibbles. She is not aggressive at all. I would think if trained properly, she would learn to not do that. Molly is in a foster home and already housetrained. We want to make sure she is never a stray again so a fenced in yard is REQUIRED. She seems to want to wander when he is outside so you MUST have a fenced in yard to adopt Molly.

3/2/19 UPDATE: Molly went to a new foster home on March 1st. She went right in her kennel and I don’t think she made a peep all night. She’s getting used to everything here but she keeps pretty close by me. Hasn’t eaten much but I think that will come. I just can’t believe how affectionate she is. Just loves to be petted and cuddled with. We are enjoying her.

3/5/19 UPDATE: Molly is doing great. She is getting more comfortable here all the time. Eating better. I think she is just a picky eater lol. Her and my dog, Kai, have been getting along good too. They have some pretty intense play matches. I think Kai may have met her match as Molly is much quicker than her lol.

3/18/19 UPDATE: Molly is doing good. Eating good. Does great in her kennel at night and during the day. The one bad habit we are working on it is that she likes to jump up on you. I think that ties into her strong desire for physical attention. She is becoming a little more independent around the house, and is also enjoying spending more time out in our fenced in yard rather than just out to go to the bathroom and straight back in. I think she will make someone a great pet, but until then we are happy to have her as part of our family.

Will someone please adopt Molly and give her forever home? $195.00 adoption fee.

WE ARE A NO-KILL 501-C-3 NON-PROFIT RESCUE. All donations are tax deductible. We do not have a shelter. All pets live in foster homes. We only adopt to indoor homes. To see an animal, you must fill out an application first and then once approved, we can set up for you to meet the animal you are interested in. We do background checks on all applicants. If you have assault, domestic abuse, or drug charges please do not apply. If you have questions, please send an email to waverlypetrescue@mchsi.com

All animals see a vet for shots and normal exams. If they appear healthy and there are no obvious health concerns, then extensive testing is not done. This is normal procedure for pet rescues and shelters.
Waverly Pet Rescue puts a lot of money into medical care for each dog and cat we take in. $300 is the average cost for basic care. This does not include if the animal had an injury, required extra flea / ear mite treatments, or needed extra days at the vet office.
