Meet Lucas

Hi, I'm Lucas. Nice to meet you! I guess I'm supposed to tell you a little about myself. Let's see ... well, according to my foster mom, I'm a very handsome cat--that is, if you like long and lean felines with silver-gray tabby-striped coats and big golden eyes. She also says I'm the most athletic cat she's ever had. That’s not surprising because I’m strong and graceful, and I can jump really high. The other cats that live in this house can’t compete with me. To be honest, they are all kind of slow and flabby. Not me! I'm in top form!

I also have more energy than the other cats in this house. They mostly just lounge around, but I like to run and jump and play a lot. My foster mom tries to keep up with me, but she is really busy and she says I need a forever home with someone who likes to play interactively with me to work out my extra energy. She says if I have too much energy or if I get bored, I get restless and keep her up at night or I start chewing on her books and magazines. Big deal! As long as I get a couple of little workout sessions every day, I am a good boy and I relax really well. I even like to curl up next to my foster mom and rub my head against her face.

I might get along with another cat who doesn’t mind playing kind of rough but still isn’t TOO aggressive. But I’m not completely sure. My foster mom can talk to you about that. I was friends with a dog at my first home, so if you have a friendly dog who’s OK with cats, that might work out too. If you don't have any other pets, I think I’ll do fine as an only child, as long as you take some time to play with me.

One more thing. I’m a brave boy most of the time, but I get kind of scared with big changes. My mom says I’ve been moved around more than most cats, and I just get nervous when things are changing again. So I might be pretty scared when I first come to your house. I might even hide for a while and growl or hiss when you come near me. But if you will give me the time I need to feel safe and find my courage again, I’ll realize that I’m safe and OK and I’ll be your forever friend. Once I’m settled in, I’m a sweet boy who is playful and sometimes even a cuddler. I just need someone who is willing to take a leap of faith and trust that I’ll come around with some patience. I promise, if you can do that, I’ll be totally worth it.

Thanks for considering me! (P.S., I’m the best!)
